LTG Link representatives evaluated electric trains manufactured for Lithuania: we are approaching the finish line
The team of LTG Link, a passenger transport company belonging to the LTG Group, visited the factory of Swiss-owned Stadler in Poland, where electric and battery trains manufactured for Lithuania are produced. After assessing the production process and performing an interim quality check, the LTG Link team confirmed that the train manufacturing process is running smoothly and reliably.
This year, 15 new passenger trains will arrive in Lithuania – 9 electric and 6 electric battery trains. Currently, the Stadler factory in Poland is working intensively on the production of the first rolling stock – two electric and two electric battery trains are being assembled.
The assembly of the first trains takes a little longer than the subsequent ones – at the initial stage of production, a team of LTG Link specialists regularly visits the factory and carefully checks each train component. The approved technical and design specifications will later be applied to the production of all remaining trains, ensuring the highest quality and compliance with the needs of Lithuanian passengers.
Among the carefully evaluated components is the bistro area, whose return to Lithuanian passenger trains marks a significant change in passenger service. In the modern bistro area, passengers will be able to purchase hot drinks as well as warm and nutritious meals. The main equipment has already been installed in the bistro – a refrigerator, convection oven, grill, dishwashers – and a coffee machine will be installed in the near future.
"The new trains will ensure a new, more comfortable travel culture and experience, so we hope that even more Lithuanian residents and visitors to our country will appreciate sustainable travel," says Kristina Meidė, head of LTG Link.
The final quality check of the assembled components at the Stadler factory in Poland is planned for the end of September this year. The first trains are expected to arrive in Vilnius in October, and shortly thereafter, Stadler and LTG specialists will begin testing the rolling stock on Lithuanian railway infrastructure. Passengers will be able to enjoy traveling on these trains starting in the second half of 2026.
