LTG Link strengthens connections with Poland – more trips and faster journeys
On December 14, when train schedules change across Europe, LTG Link will not only update them, but also present news that is particularly relevant to fans of international routes. From that date, the number of routes between Lithuania and Poland will triple – instead of one, there will be three trains running daily, the journey time between Vilnius and Warsaw will be reduced by one hour, and between Vilnius and Krakow – by as much as two hours.
"I am delighted with the results of our cooperation with our partners in Poland. More frequent international train services will ensure more convenient connections with our neighbors, and passengers will not only travel more comfortably and quickly between the two countries, but will also be able to reach other European cities. This is an important step in strengthening relations between Lithuania and Poland," says Minister of Transport Juras Taminskas.
In addition to more frequent trips, LTG Link will also offer a new Vilnius-Szczecin route starting December 14. Travelers will be able to leave Vilnius early in the morning, reach Warsaw by noon, and Szczecin, located near the German border, by 7 p.m. This route will also provide access to one of the oldest cities in Poland, Poznań.
Passengers will still be able to choose the popular midday flight to Krakow via Warsaw, and the morning departure from Krakow will become more convenient, allowing them to start their journey to Lithuania later – at around 6 a.m.
"These changes are part of LTG Link's consistent international transport development plan, which aims to connect Lithuania with the most important European centers in a convenient and sustainable way. We believe that the new routes and shorter travel times will further encourage people to choose sustainable train travel for both leisure and business purposes," says Kristina Meidė, head of LTG Link.
Shorter travel times between Vilnius and Warsaw and more flexible schedules will provide more opportunities for convenient transfers to other trains, both local and international. From Warsaw, it will be easy to reach many European cities – from Prague, Vienna, and Berlin to Kyiv – as well as travel throughout Poland – to Gdańsk, Zakopane, and other regions – on both daytime and night trains.
Detailed information about train schedule updates will be announced in November.
