LTG Group uses the following international agreements and recommendations to guide its sustainability planning and priority-setting:
- The Paris Agreement aiming to make the EU the first climate-neutral economy and society by 2050.
- The European Green Deal aiming to transform the EU's climate, energy, transport, and tax policies. The goal is for Europe to become a climate-neutral continent by 2050, economic growth decoupled from the use of natural resources, and a socially just transformation ensuring that no person and no place is left behind. The Green Deal's Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transport by 90% by 2050.
- European Commission's Communication on Promoting Corporate Social Responsibility.
- International Labour Organisation Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
- Requirements and recommendations from the Governance Coordination Centre.
- Lithuanian national legislation and objectives.
- Other sustainability recommendations.
LTG Group also contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which cover social development, economic growth, environmental protection, and partnership-related objectives. Given the nature of its operations, the Group focuses primarily on six goals where it can make the most significant impact:

Employee safety, health, and well-being are among the Group’s highest priorities. As one of the largest employers in Lithuania, the Group is committed to ensuring that thousands of its employees can perform their duties safely, while continuously improving working conditions and supporting employee health and well-being.
Railways are an important part of the country’s economy and transport system. Through the sustainable, safe, and strategic development of its activities, LTG contributes to national and regional economic growth as well as labour market stability. The Group maintains a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and discrimination, while fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and equal opportunities.

Engagement and collaboration with communities, as well as addressing their interests and concerns, are of great importance to LTG Group’s operations and development. The Group seeks not only to keep communities informed about planned projects, but also to involve them in consultations, encouraging them to share their expectations and needs. LTG also contributes to the implementation of the national sustainable mobility policy and provides sustainable opportunities for intercity travel.

The Group aims to further reduce the impact of its operations on the climate and achieve climate neutrality by 2050. To support this ambition, it is implementing railway electrification projects, expanding opportunities for intermodal freight transport, and encouraging passengers to choose rail travel—the most environmentally friendly mode of transport.
