“Christmas Is Rolling Down the Tracks” – LTG Invites You on a Festive Journey of Music, Lights and Creativity
As the festive season approaches, the LTG Group invites everyone to experience the run-up to Christmas in a different way with its “Christmas Is Rolling Down the Tracks” series of events. Now a well-loved annual tradition, it celebrates the most Christmassy journeys – a festival of music, lights and togetherness for families, friends and all train enthusiasts.
“It is LTG’s gift to the community: an invitation to enjoy Christmas with family and friends in a fun, memorable way. Festive trains, special lighting, creative workshops, educational activities, and musical performances – we have prepared all of this to make the wait for Christmas a magical and joyful journey for everyone,” says Aleksandras Zubriakovas, LTG Group’s Director of Corporate Affairs.
Festive Trains – Journeys with a Story
Last week, four decorated festive trains set off on their routes and will delight passengers travelling in five directions: Vilnius–Kaunas, Vilnius–Trakai, Vilnius–Klaipėda, Vilnius–Mockava and, until 11 December, Vilnius–Turmantas.
Three of these trains shine with music and elegance: you will find Christmas trees and the usual festive decorations, as well as real musical instruments on board. The fourth train, running on the Vilnius–Mockava route, evokes a warm, cosy childhood atmosphere. Its decorations were created by Go Vilnius, the city’s tourism and business development agency, so travelling on this train will give passengers a taste of the festive mood of Vilnius – the European Christmas Capital 2025.
Stations Filled with Music – Christmas at Every Step
The beautifully decorated railway stations in Vilnius and Kaunas will become spaces for gathering, performing and enjoying music. On 7 December, the festive season at Vilnius station will be opened by a special event featuring Tai bent Kalėdos and the magical creatures of this enchanted forest, followed by the Fainuoliai Choir, known for bringing people together through music. That same evening, the Fainuoliai Choir will also perform at Kaunas railway station.
From 8 to 20 December, both Vilnius and Kaunas stations will host an Open Stage, where anyone who registers in advance will be able to share their music. On 21 December, Vilnius railway station will host an exceptional piano concert by Giedrius Nakas.
Christmas at Bėgių Parkas – a Shining Family Celebration Under the Open Sky
Very soon, Bėgių Parkas, located next to Vilnius railway station, will be filled with light and festive spirit: the bridge, historic rolling stock, and a uniquely shaped Christmas tree will all be illuminated. For one weekend – 12–14 December – the area will transform into a festive village, complete with creative workshops, educational activities, games with Santa Claus and mascots. Each evening will end with a captivating laser show.
On 13 December, the stage will host warm and joyful musical performances by Monika Linkytė, Justinas Lapatinskas, and Kotryna Juodzevičūtė. All activities and events at Bėgių Parkas are free of charge.
The Railway Museum Invites Everyone to Create Christmas Magic Together
In mid-December, the Railway Museum – both in Vilnius and Šiauliai – will become a true Christmas workshop. Children and adults will be able to meet Santa Claus, take part in storytelling activities, create traditional hanging straw ornaments, bind miniature storybooks, and even make candles.
Vilnius Museum will offer workshops for making bell-shaped decorations and storybooks, as well as sessions on crafting the traditional “sky gardens”, plus a dance and light performance. In Šiauliai, children taking part in the “Christmas Train Journey to the Land of Christmas” will meet Santa, with whom they will create stories, postcards, and bells.
