LTG’s sustainability initiative: more shared electric vehicles and a new partnership

The LTG Group continues to pursue its sustainability goals and is systematically renewing its passenger car fleet, increasingly shifting towards car sharing and consistently reducing the number of internal combustion engine vehicles. The electric vehicle charging infrastructure is also being expanded.

The LTG Group has recently received 34 new economy-class Škoda Elroq 85 electric vehicles—meaning that electric vehicles will now account for more than a quarter of LTG Group’s total passenger car fleet. To ensure their smooth operation across Lithuania, LTG has also signed an agreement with Ignitis ON, providing access to a widely distributed network of electric vehicle charging stations. All these services for the Group’s companies are organised by the LTG Group company "LTG Kompetencijų centras".

According to Andrius Bagdonas, LTG’s Sustainability Manager, the new electric vehicles—as well as the electric trains and locomotives currently being purchased—represent not only a technological upgrade but also another step towards a responsible mobility model based on renewable energy, prioritising clean public transport and the efficient use of resources.

“In pursuing our long-term sustainability goals, we are systematically reducing the environmental impact of LTG’s operations. We are optimising our vehicle fleet and transitioning to solutions that minimise emissions throughout the entire LTG Group operational cycle, while also working with partners to develop the infrastructure that enables even more sustainable operations,” says Andrius Bagdonas, LTG’s Sustainability Manager.

In addition, LTG is consistently implementing solutions that help employees conveniently plan more sustainable journeys. The growing number of shared electric vehicles allows for more efficient use of available resources and reduces the need for private cars, while the opportunity for employees to travel by train free of charge further encourages them to choose more environmentally friendly mobility options on a daily basis. This system enables employees to flexibly combine different modes of transport while helping the organisation reduce emissions.

Another key focus is the continuous development of infrastructure and partnerships that enable LTG’s transport solutions to be integrated into the country’s broader sustainable mobility ecosystem. Access to the extensive Ignitis ON charging network ensures that electric vehicles remain practical for everyday use throughout Lithuania.

“The adoption of electric vehicles in organisations becomes a viable solution only when a reliable charging infrastructure is developed alongside it. The Ignitis ON network enables convenient charging throughout Lithuania, and we are pleased to contribute to the LTG Group’s sustainability goals,” says Eimantas Balta, Head of the Electric Mobility Department at Ignitis.
