Pink Lunch Break You Won’t Forget: 400 Portions of Cold Beet Soup at the Station
From May 29 to 31, Vilnius Railway Station will briefly transform into a place where the color pink takes over not only the space but also the mood. The Vilnius Cold Beet Soup Station invites travelers, neighbors, families, friends, and all cold-beet-soup lovers to dive into a summery, slightly playful atmosphere where the rhythm of trains, DJ music, and the unmistakable taste of Lithuanian cold beet soup all come together.
On May 29 at 12:00, the station platform will host the highlight of the celebration – the Pink Break lunch, where trains will arrive and depart as usual, but the station itself will turn into an informal open‑air summer terrace. Guests will be treated to 400 free portions of cold beet soup, 100 sweet donuts, music, and a lively mood created by a DJ.
This year’s Pink Break will also feature a special moment: a newlywed couple will join the celebration and enjoy their first married cold beet soup right after their ceremony in the station’s event hall. They will have lunch together with station visitors and travelers, symbolically beginning their shared journey with a bowl of the legendary Lithuanian soup.
Throughout the weekend, the Cold Beet Soup Station will become a true pink adventure hub. On Friday, the Railway Museum at the Track Park will invite visitors to the game “Escape from the Carriage”, a tour of the exhibition “Fruit Smuggling: Journeys on Interwar Trains”, sports activities with the FK Žalgiris women’s team, and fun workshops for families and youth.
On Saturday, visitors can expect creative and tech activities, Roblox and Minecraft challenges, drone‑flying demonstrations, and other engaging experiences, while Vilnius FM will broadcast live from the Track Park all day. On Sunday, the program will shift into a slower, community‑focused rhythm with a live radio broadcast, activities presented by the organization “Žinau viską” (“I Know Everething”), and another guided tour at the Railway Museum.
All of this will serve as a prelude to the broader Cold Beet Soup Festival, which for the fourth year in a row brings together thousands of pink‑mood enthusiasts.
Last year, the festival attracted more than 93,000 visitors, and this year it once again promises to paint the city bright pink, inviting everyone to celebrate the start of summer together.
