We aim to become a climate-neutral organisation
In line with its international commitments, the LTG Group is making an ambitious commitment to reduce total CO2 emissions from rail transport by 30% by 2030 and to become a climate-neutral organisation by 2050.
To reduce our impact on climate change, we have already started modernising our trains, using more energy-efficient technology, lighting and heating systems, and energy from renewable energy sources.
Strategic projects are being developed to meet our ambitious goals and will make an important contribution to our goal of becoming a climate neutral organisation:
- electrification of main railway lines and re-electrification of previously electrified roads;
- the largest infrastructure project in the Baltics – the construction of Rail Baltica – to integrate the Baltic countries into the European rail network;
- acquisition of electric passenger trains and freight locomotives;
- development of intermodal freight transportation services.
