Celebrate World Car-Free Day with 90% Off Train Tickets
On Tuesday, September 22, International Car-Free Day will be observed around the world. LTG Link, the passenger transport company of the LTG Group, invites you to celebrate together—tickets for local routes on that day will be offered at a 90 percent discount.
This annual initiative aims to draw attention to sustainable mobility alternatives and encourage residents to reduce road pollution for at least one day. Contributing to this goal for the third year in a row, “LTG Link” is offering train tickets for a nominal fee.
“Car-Free Day is a great opportunity to change your usual travel habits—even if just for a short while—and try out more sustainable alternatives. I believe that the more people choose public transportation for their daily commutes or leisure trips, the more convenient and sustainable a transportation system we’ll all create together,” says Kristina Meidė, CEO of “LTG Link.”
LTG Link is offering a 90 percent discount on tickets for local routes on September 22, purchased online or via the mobile app. For example, a second-class ticket for one adult traveling on the Vilnius–Kaunas route will cost as low as 0.56 euros, and a ticket from Vilnius to Klaipėda will cost as low as 2.68 euros.
Last year, nearly 32,000 passengers chose to travel by train on International Car-Free Day.
The discount offered on International Car-Free Day is one of two annual initiatives during which “LTG Link” offers passengers the opportunity to travel for a nominal fee. The same 90 percent discount is traditionally offered on May 30, which marks Train Passengers’ Day. Today, the “Train Passengers’ Club” has more than 170,000 members who, by choosing trains over cars, contribute to more sustainable mobility in Lithuania.
