The operations of the LTG Group, which include passenger and freight transportation, require significant energy consumption—particularly for traction, infrastructure heating, and lighting. Currently, part of the energy is still sourced from polluting sources such as fossil fuels, which negatively impacts the environment and increases the Group’s GHG emissions footprint.

In response to this situation, LTG Group is implementing an intensive electrification program aimed at gradually phasing out the use of fossil fuels. Electrification of railway sections, deployment of electric trains, and energy efficiency solutions will not only reduce emissions but also optimize infrastructure performance.

Dependence on polluting energy sources also poses additional risks. For example, fluctuating fossil fuel prices can increase operating costs, which in turn may reduce business attractiveness and hinder investment. Therefore, investments in cleaner energy and improved efficiency are not only an environmental necessity but also a strategic imperative.

LTG Group’s actions in this area contribute to sustainability across the entire value chain: lower energy intensity solutions and electrification enable the development of less polluting transport services, benefiting both business clients and individual passengers.
