LTG Link, the passenger transport company of the LTG Group, carries millions of passengers every year. For some of them, trains are a daily means of transportation, but sometimes these journeys also mark the beginning of new relationships. Simona and Vykintas’s relationship, which began on a train eight years ago, culminated in a wedding on July 10, and the couple chose a symbolic location for their wedding photo shoot—a train station and a train.

Simona and Vykintas first met in early 2018, right after New Year’s. At the time, Simona—who had briefly returned to Lithuania from abroad—was traveling by train to Radviliškis, while Vykintas was heading to Telšiai. Due to the increased passenger traffic during the holiday season, tickets were sold out, so both were offered the option to purchase them on the train. That’s how their paths crossed in the same train car, among passengers seated in extra seats.

“We started talking and exchanged contact information. Later, I moved back abroad, so our relationship remained friendly. Still, I often thought about Vykintas—it seemed that if I were living in Lithuania, I’d want to get to know him better,” Simona recalls.

A few years later, Simona returned to Lithuania to study veterinary medicine in Kaunas. Around that time, Vykintas also moved to Kaunas. Although they kept in touch from a distance for a while, they met in person in August 2024. Before long, their acquaintance blossomed into a close relationship, a life together, and the decision to start a family.

According to the couple, they had no doubts when choosing a location for their wedding photo shoot. The train station and the train remind them of the circumstances in which they first met. “This is a place associated with the beginning of our relationship. We wanted to come back here and capture one of the most important days of our lives,” says Simona.

The couple loves to travel, and one of their shared dreams is to explore more of Europe by train in the future.

Simona and Vykintas’ story is one of millions of travel stories. In 2025, 5.9 million passengers traveled on “LTG Link” trains, with approximately 200 daily trips operating on 24 routes. The company’s train punctuality rate last year reached 97.2 percent, one of the highest in the European Union.
